How Does It Work?

ISD imitates the natural hydrological cycle in the tree pump in a simple way to produce water on demand. Trees extract water through roots, leaving salts behind in soil and groundwater. Water is transpired through foliage into the atmosphere from where it condenses as clouds and returns to the surface as rain. We can collect and store this water at the surface, or let it infiltrate to groundwater where it can again become salty.
